Restless British Director Ryan J Smith is making extraordinary strides in the movie industry with the launch of his original film studio. Established as a development-to-release studio, Skint Film Company is purely focused on delivering quality content to streaming and home cinema services, allowing modern audiences to affordably enjoy a first-class viewing experience.
As regards the intricacies of running a film studio, Ryan directs much of his attention to time and money. At just 24 years old, the phenomenal director finances his movies himself, and as such ensures the entire production measures up to the highest cinematic standards while still ticking all the important financial boxes.
“The older I get, the more I’m grateful that I put all my energy into this,” adds the Blackpool-born Ryan, who also won a slate of awards for his 2019 documentary 'Red Light Solo' on the Amsterdam jazz scene. “I didn’t go out partying very much growing up, I didn’t have that many friends, and I was a bit of a loner, but the flipside of that is that now I’m in my mid-20s and I’ve got a good thing going.”
